Good day,

It is my pleasure to announce the release of Quest Workspace Desktop Virtualization (formerly vWorkspace) connector for iPad version 1.3. The Connector for iPad provides organizations with the ability to deliver Windows desktops and applications to Apple's iPad thus extending mobility and increasing productivity. The Desktop Virtualization Connector for iPad 1.3 increases usability, resolves outstanding issues, and expands the Connector's function. One major feature that has been added to the Connector for iPad is management of
direct RDP Connections. Previous versions of the Connector for iPad required an operational Desktop Virtualization (vWorkspace) farm in place for the Connector to be of any use. With version 1.3 of the Connector users can now connect directly to RDP hosts, such as Windows Server 2008 R2, independent of a Desktop
Virtualization farm. This is a built-in, and very useful, feature of the free Connector, designed to increase popularity of the connector and awareness of Quest’s desktop virtualization solutions. Below are some the other features we have included in this release:

  • Direct RDP Connections - Define one or many connections to RDP hosts.
  • Accessing the Application Log - Quick access to the Connector's log file by simply sending an email.
  • Web Access Support - Access a Desktop Virtualization farm using the Safari web browser.
  • Cancel Pending Tasks - End a pending task, such as a connection to a virtual desktop, before the connection is made or before it times out.

The Connector for iPad version 1.3 can be seen from Apple's AppStorehere. To install the Connector, search for "vWorkspace" in the AppStore from your iPad.

Before using this release of the Connector it is recommended that you first review the Release Notes.

The Connector's documentation is listed below and can be found atsupport.quest.comor from www.quest.com/desktop-virtualizationby clicking theTry link.
